The archaeological studdies of the Ayreshire have been conducted by divers from the sullom Voe Sub Aqua Club in cooperation with the Nautical Archaeological Society and divers from the Lerwick Sub Aqua Club The Sullom Voe Sub Aqua Club (SVSAC) addopted the wreck of the Ayrshire under the adopt a wreck scheme. This scheme is run in conjunctio with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and the Nautical Archaeology Society (NAS). NAS Scotland havebeen and are currently hepling the SVSAC with training and technical support for the surveys We have now completed two summer schools in Shetland on the Ayrshire. Mr Philip Robertson of the Lochaline Dive Centre supplies all expertise and assistance we required for our project. He also supplied us with tutors and project plans. We are currently in the planning stage for the 2003 summer school.
